Headteacher’s Message

On behalf of the Governors, the staff, the pupils and myself, it gives me great pleasure as Headteacher, to welcome you to the Weald Rise Primary School website.

Our school website is a very important tool for communicating and celebrating the amazing activities that take place at Weald Rise Primary School as well as providing information about the various policies, practice and procedures in our school.

Weald Rise Primary School is a three form entry primary school located in a quiet, residential area of Harrow Weald. We are a new Primary School, which was formed from the amalgamation of two separate Infant and Junior Schools in April 2015.  Our School is undergoing a complete rebuilding programme and we have recently moved into an amazing brand new state of the art building.  We are extremely proud of our new school. Our revolutionary teaching spaces is encouraging us to be creative in our approaches to teaching. Currently there are 576 pupils on roll.

Weald Rise is a thriving, dynamic, forward thinking school for children aged three to eleven years of age. At Weald Rise we actively seek to make a positive difference to every child’s learning journey. We know that teaching is our core purpose and we endeavour to ensure our provision is the very best possible. The talented teaching teams at Weald Rise Primary are our biggest asset – they consist of teachers, teaching assistants, higher level teaching assistants and subject specialists (PE, French, Science and Music).  Our teaching teams are supported by our Welfare Assistants, our Pastoral team which includes a Learning Mentor  and a counsellor.  The staff teams at Weald Rise work together to provide the guidance, encouragement and challenge every child needs to progress in their learning and fulfil their potential.

Our school community is diverse and reflects the cosmopolitan nature of our neighbourhood. Our children vary in their abilities and we aspire to instil a love of learning in each and every one of them.  We continually endeavour to provide an exciting, relevant and challenging curriculum which includes stimulating events such as topic launch days, whole school theme weeks, trips and regular visitors to school.

Our morning  and  after school care are  a huge convenience to working families. We offer a good variety of lunch time and after school clubs, which are run by members of staff. We work with our extended school partners to provide support and guidance to families within our locality. We also regularly lead information sessions for parents who we value as equal partners in their child’s education.

Our governing body is committed and ambitious in its leadership of Weald Rise – the governors offer good challenge and high levels of support to the senior leadership team. We are proud of the professional learning community that is established at Weald Rise. Governors and staff work together to provide our children with the very best learning opportunities.  Together we will continue to work hard to make Weald Rise again.

We are very proud of our school and hope that you will visit so that you can see for yourself.
