I am a Co-opted Governor and both my husband and I have grown up and currently reside within the Harrow area. We have three children – our eldest son is currently in Year 3, we have a son in Reception and a daughter who is a Pre-Schooler.
Having worked within the field of Human Resources for the last 17 years, I believe my work gives me insight into a number of areas relevant for the governor role including assessment, recruitment, organisation development, diversity and inclusion, as well as broader areas such as stakeholder management, people management and budgets.
I wanted to become a Governor so that I could use these skills to benefit the community and a local school. Weald Rise has a strong sense of community and diversity, and I have been enormously impressed by the confidence and positive attitude of the pupils as well as the hard work and dedication of the teaching staff and school; the children here are being well prepared for the challenging and changing world around us.
I am looking forward to being able to make a positive contribution to Weald Rise and to play an active role in helping the school go from strength to strength, alongside the other existing dedicated governors.
